We are a multi-generational and multi-cultural church and this must always be reflected in our leadership. Today there are communicators, artists, and thinkers with so much to offer people who seek Jesus. The communicators, artists, and thinkers of yesterday bring timeless depth to us today. So to be balanced, multi-generational, and multi-cultural, we cannot settle into being traditional or trendy. Instead, there is a simplicity to being a bridge to faith in Jesus. We grow as we love God and love each other.
We are a missional living church. We are outwardly focused. The healthy church does not focus on itself but looks outside itself. This takes effort because it is so easy to think about ourselves.
One commitment that we have established is that a minimum of 10% of all offerings given to The Arbor Alliance Church are directed to world and strategic missions. This is accomplished by our partnership with other churches, as we are a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance.
The mission as defined by Jesus is also a call to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). We are committed to pursue this mission and to never stop learning how to improve our calling to make disciples.
We embrace the values that Jesus lived. We do this in the gathering of people meeting together for the purpose of growing as individuals and as a community. We have chosen the name Arbor because it illustrates these values.
An Arbor is an interesting structure that displays beautiful vegetation. Jesus said that he is the vine and we are the branches (John 15:5). The branches are nourished and supported by Jesus. The beauty will be apparent as the branches grow and change, giving shade and rest as Jesus provides the essentials of life.
